GreenMedInfo.com is truly much more than a unique database or premier research website.  We are currently running our site on alternative hosting. We believe that green hosting begins with personal healing and planetary transformation which are inseparable -- which is why we chose early on to do all our development and hosting through energy sources least harmful to our environment.  GreenMedInfo, like all green living things, was borne from solar-power.  Our one-of-a-kind, open source, natural medicine database was created entirely through energy drawn from solar panels in Southern California over the past year. 

 

While we loved being 100% solar-powered, our growing traffic and membership base has forced us to look for a more powerful and stable hosting environment, which is why we are now officially announcing our switch to a hydropower platform located in Canada.  

 

Moreover, because we know from personally experience how difficult it is to obtain reliable, inexpensive, and fast hosting on green energy, we have decided to partner up with a hosting provider in order to offer the same green hosting environment to all our loyal fans.*  Your hosting contributions will help to offset our own server costs so that we may continue to offer free access to our growing user base, as well as fulfill our desire to share a great service in which we truly believe in. 

 

We find the various transitions we have taken since our inception in 2009 to be quite poetic.  We have never advertised (the equivalent of using fertilizer) to grow our fan base.  In a grassroots-driven (read: word-of-mouth) and sustainable fashion our site has grown organically and now ranks among to the topmost 8K+ sites in the United States -- call it People-Powered Growth.

Over the years, GreenMedInfo.com has been required to move around the country from data center to data center due to its ever increasing hardware requirements. As you may already know, Greenmedinfo.com is a website which makes use of a powerful, dynamically updated database which requires copious amounts of resources to run and operate efficiently.

Currently, our website resides at a data center in Canada. We found this data center after performing a long search for a powerful and efficient data center which runs off a green center, which we refer to as Hydro Hosting. We are quite familiar with the difficult process of locating a data center which allows you to safely and securely reduce ones carbon footprint, and having been spending our time and energy over the past few months building out and setting up cloud technology to safely and efficiently host additional websites.
