Gates Foundation/CFR Propaganda Against 'Anti-Vaccine' Movement Backfires

"It is well known that in war, the first casualty is truth - that during any war truth is forsaken for propaganda." ~ Harry Browne

The war against so-called 'vaccine preventable' diseases has a new frontier: the internet, and most recently The Council of Foreign Relations (CFR) has entered the fray with the publication of an interactive map that it claims "visually plots global outbreaks of measles, mumps, whooping cough, polio, rubella, and other diseases that are easily preventable by inexpensive and effective vaccines."  This widely referenced map generated news headlines such as:

CFR's map is "made possible by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation," and is part of The Global Health Program at the Council on Foreign Relations, which it claims "provides independent, evidence-based analysis and recommendations to help policymakers, business leaders, journalists, and the general public meet the health challenges of a globalized world."  The problem, however, with this map is that is not based on peer-reviewed biomedical evidence as one would expect, but largely anecdotal evidence aggregated from unconfirmed and often unverifiable news stories.

With not a shred of evidence, reporters like Michael Hiltzik from the LA Times opine that the prevalence of measles in Europe -- especially Britain -- and the U.S are an "artifact of the anti-vaccination movement, which has associated the vaccine with autism." Really? Why no mention of the extensive evidence within the published literature of measles vaccine failure in the US since 1995 in immunization compliant populations, revealing that measles epidemics are often due to a failing vaccine and not the failure to vaccinate? If the CFR's map is 'evidence-based,' why no references to the primary literature?

Take a quick peek at a few examples of the explicitly not evidence-based sources for this map, which are simply re-broadcasted official statements of state- or private medical establishment-sponsored propaganda:

Talking about data, not theories.

No, that would be a possible conclusion or theory based on the data.  There are other possible theories.  I am just saying that taken as a whole, the map presents a fair picture of these various disease outbreaks in the world since 2008.

Physics Police website policing activism

I checked out the Physics Police website. They are all about the mass corporate politically correct party line. They police any activism against the establishment. They state that GMO foods are healthy, the Gardasil vaccine is successful and fluoride is healthy for your body. They attempt to “debunk” one study or article to discredit activism against Multinational Corporation.  They are obviously well funded by the establishment to writh their one sided pro establishment rebuttals.  Have a look on their site for your selves:  PP = DIS INFO. In the thread above, you will notice that the Physics Police changed their name to "James William".. Trolls

Published?

What constitutes published? You have official statements provided by organizations like the CDC who are notorious for glossing over or ignoring evidence contrary to their policy decisions, which were reported on by local news organizations in various townships through the country, and that constitutes 'evidence'? Really? That is what you defend. Why don't you actually talk about the primary literature linked explicitly in the rebuttal and pick that apart?

data vs conclusions

Because I am talking about the data used for the map.  I think that taken as a whole it presents a fair picture of these various disease outbreaks.   I suppose it is possible that all over the world, people got together and faked the information that the various governmental and news groups have reported - but I doubt it.

Now the conclusions drawn from these reports are another matter and I am not getting into that.  I can certainly understand how you would disagree with the conclusions.  But to do so by attacking the data used weakens your argument I would think.

peer-reviewed biomedical evidence?

So the map is not based on peer-reviewed biomedical evidence?  Thats true.  It is, however, based on 864 specific published reports.  And while one can attempt to cherry pick a few of them such as the Pertussis reports (which really don't prove his point anyway), the whole aggregate of information paints a pretty good picture of what is going on with these outbreaks of measles, mumps, whooping cough, polio, rubella, etc. which are largely preventable.

Tell me please

So, are you saying that you agree that the CFR map implicates the "anti vaccine" movement in these deaths/outbreaks? Please explain.
