Ancient Ayurveda Beats Clonazepam in Clinical Trial for Anxiety Disorder

Ancient Ayurveda Beats Clonazepam in Clinical Trial for Anxiety Disorder

Researchers from India have proven in a randomized clinical study using international protocols that an ancient Ayurveda remedy for anxiety outperformed the benzodiazepine drug Clonazepam (Klonopin) in relieving severe anxiety.

The researchers, from India's National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), tested 72 patients in a hospital setting who were diagnosed with severe generalized anxiety disorder using the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS). The test subjects were all adults between 20 and 55 years old of both sexes and most had experienced their anxiety disorder for seven years or more. They were also diagnosed with comorbid generalized social phobia.

Ayurvedic Remedy Bacopa Improves Memory and Multitasking, Reduces Stress

While modern researchers scramble to create synthetic drugs to delay the onset of memory disorders such as Alzheimer's disease and other dementias, a latent form of institutional dementia prevails: A purposeful forgetfulness and outright dismissal of ancient remedies for memory, stress and mood disorders

Bacopa monieri is an herbal medicine used for thousands of years in Ayurveda for a variety of mood-related, memory-related and cognitive-related disorders.

Now we find modern clinical research proves the effectiveness of Bacopa to boost memory, improve moods, increase multi-tasking, reduce stress and boost cognition in general.

Bad Science Denies Link Between Diet And Acne

Chamomile Proven to Fight Anxiety and Clinical Depression

Recent clinical and laboratory research has determined that chamomile is not only relaxing, but it can significantly decrease anxiety and even fight depression.

The most recent study, from the UK's University of Nottingham Medical School, found that chamomile significantly relaxed blood vessels and smooth muscle fibers. This effect was indicated specifically with the application of three of chamomile's central constituents, apigenin, luteolin and bisabolol – all hydroxylates.

This effect of chamomile to soothe and calm the system was also showed in a recent study from the Eulji University Hospital in South Korea. Here 56 patients undergoing coronary treatment and surgery were given aromatherapy with a combination of lavender, chamomile and neroli. A control group was given only nursing care.
