Fluoride in your Drinking Water Making You LOOK Older? In the 1950' a TV commercial convinced people that fluoride was outstanding for teeth. By brushing, yellow teeth would become white, and cavities would be eradicated. Dentists concurred and encouraged the use of fluoride. So, through clever marketing, it became an urban belief that fluoride in toothpaste would be fabulous for strong healthy cavity free white teeth.
