PMID: 767183 Abstract Title:  Early behavioral differences: gender or circumcision? Abstract:  In human studies, the possible long-term effects on behavior of early physical insult or pharmacological agents have received little attention. We present both circumstantial and direct evidence that circumcision of male infants leads to behavioral changes. In some American studies using circumcised infants, reported gender differences may instead be the result of the altered behavior of circumcised males. We suggest that circumcision requires more study in its own right, and that it requires description if not control in all neonatal and infancy studies. https://greenmedinfo.com/article/early-behavioral-differences-may-be-result-circumcision-and-not-gender#comments Infant Trauma Circumcision Commentary Wed, 01 Jun 2011 02:56:07 +0000 greenmedinfo 64279 at https://greenmedinfo.com Infants Deeply Traumatized By Common Medical Procedures, New Study Suggests https://greenmedinfo.com/blog/infants-deeply-traumatized-medical-procedures-new-study-suggests-1 <div class="copyright">This article is copyrighted by GreenMedInfo LLC, 2019<br/><strong><a href="/greenmedinfocom-re-post-guidelines">Visit our Re-post guidelines</a></strong></div><p class="rtecenter"><img alt="Painful Medical Procedures Traumaize Infants, New Study Suggests" src="//cdn.greenmedinfo.com/sites/default/files/ckeditor/Sayer Ji/images/infant_pain_greenMedInfo.jpg" style="width: 600px; height: 401px;" /></p> <p><span style="font-size:24px;"><em><strong>A concerning new study suggests that&nbsp;decades of medical procedures performed on infants without pain management has had deeply traumatizing effects.</strong></em></span></p> <p>A groundbreaking study published in <em>eLife</em> titled, “<strong><a href="https://elifesciences.org/content/4/e06356">fMRI</a></strong><strong><a href="https://elifesciences.org/content/4/e06356" rel="nofollow"> reveals neural activity overlap between adult and infant pain</a></strong>,” demonstrates that the infant pain experience, despite long held assumptions to the contrary, closely resembles that of adults.</p><p><a href="https://greenmedinfo.com/blog/infants-deeply-traumatized-medical-procedures-new-study-suggests-1" target="_blank">read more</a></p> https://greenmedinfo.com/blog/infants-deeply-traumatized-medical-procedures-new-study-suggests-1#comments Infant Trauma Circumcision Sat, 30 Jul 2016 18:18:02 +0000 Sayer Ji 131336 at https://greenmedinfo.com Painful Medical Procedures Traumatize Infants, Studies Suggest https://greenmedinfo.com/blog/painful-medical-procedures-traumatize-infants-studies-suggest <div class="copyright">This article is copyrighted by GreenMedInfo LLC, 2023<br/><strong><a href="/greenmedinfocom-re-post-guidelines">Visit our Re-post guidelines</a></strong></div><p class="rtecenter"><img alt="" src="//cdn.greenmedinfo.com/sites/default/files/ckeditor/blank.justin/images/Painful_Medical_Procedures_Traumatize_Infants_Studies_Suggest-GreenMedInfo.jpg" style="width: 600px; height: 315px;" /></p> <p><span style="letter-spacing: 0px;">Recent research reveals infant pain experiences closely resemble adults', challenging assumptions that infants have muted pain responses. fMRI data shows brain activation in emotional processing regions during invasive procedures without <strong><a href="/disease/pain" rel="dofollow" target="_blank">pain</a></strong> relief.1</span></p><p><a href="https://greenmedinfo.com/blog/painful-medical-procedures-traumatize-infants-studies-suggest" target="_blank">read more</a></p> https://greenmedinfo.com/blog/painful-medical-procedures-traumatize-infants-studies-suggest#comments Infant Trauma Surgery: All Vaccination: All Mon, 11 Dec 2023 21:59:57 +0000 GMI Research Group 284624 at https://greenmedinfo.com The Foreskin: Why Is It Such A Secret In North America? https://greenmedinfo.com/blog/foreskin-why-it-such-secret-north-america <p class="rtecenter" itemprop="name"><img alt="The Foreskin: Why Is It Such A Secret In North America?" src="//cdn.greenmedinfo.com/sites/default/files/ckeditor/Sayer Ji/images/circumcision_banana_foreskin_cutting.jpg" style="width: 625px; height: 416px;" title="The Foreskin: Why Is It Such A Secret In North America?" /><br /> <span style="letter-spacing: 0px; font-size: 12px;"><strong><span style="letter-spacing: 0px;">Originally published on </span><strong style="font-size: 14px; letter-spacing: 0px;"><a href="http://madsciencewriter.blogspot.com/2013/05/the-foreskin-why-is-it-such-secret-in.html" rel="dofollow" target="_blank">Mad Science Writer</a></strong></strong></span></p><p><a href="https://greenmedinfo.com/blog/foreskin-why-it-such-secret-north-america" target="_blank">read more</a></p> https://greenmedinfo.com/blog/foreskin-why-it-such-secret-north-america#comments Infant Trauma Circumcision Health Guide: Parenting Infant and Children's Heatlh Sexual Health circumcision facts north america foreskin The Foreskin In North America where else do people circumcise why circumcise Sat, 27 Apr 2019 13:11:22 +0000 spoonyquine 117010 at https://greenmedinfo.com
