Abstract:

Excerpt: "Our objective in this study was to reveal hepatoprotective properties of the sea-buckthorn and sea-buckthorn-pink oils in the experiment in shinshilla rats exposed to tetrachloromethane. To assess the progression of hepatitis and recovery processes in hepatic cells we used the organ-specific enzyme sorbitoldegydrogenase (SDG). The results obtained showed that the sea-buckthorn and sea-buckthorn-pink oils promoted normalization of SDG level 5 and 8 days respectively earlier than in the control group, which fact is indicative of their apparent hepatoprotective properties."
